Effects
Crack is a strong stimulant that produces similar but more intense and immediate effects to that of cocaine. The effects are much shorter lasting – peaking in minutes before subsiding within 15 minutes providing users with a strong sense of well-being.
Health Risks
Crack has a particularly “moreish” effect meaning that users seek to maintain the effects to avoid the subsequent crash following use. The stimulant effects can place a considerable strain on the heart. Crack is psychologically addictive and many users are unable to control their use. Often used concurrently with heroin due to the complimentary effects of the two drugs.
